CustomerReviewsBlender was a let downThe Proctor Silex 57171 7-Speed Blender was a let down on the performance.
It seems like it has more cons than pros.
The operational sound is real big.All my neighbors get to know that Im blending/grinding when I use the blender.
The blades are not designed for fine grinding. It takes a lot of effort to get a finely made juice.
Im not a convinced customer.
Regards
Good ProductI've had this blender for a month and a half now and it works great. I use it every day for protein drinks and it's completely up to the task. I chose this model because I wanted the large (48 oz.) container and I prefer plastic over glass. The price was very reasonable. I would recommend this blender.
I love my blenderIt's powerful and has a pulse which helps stir things and saves the motor from overwork. I'm happy with it for the price. Good value.

CustomerReviewsOster Counterform Blender Quit Working After 8 UsesWe purchased this blender thru Amazon in July 2008. We used it approx. 8 times & now it does not operate AT ALL. We paid $100.94 PLUS $16.39 for the Milkshake Blade Assy, which is now worthless.
This is the first "expensive" blender I've owned. I tried writing to Oster's "Contact Us" on their website, but my message would not go through.
Being the purchasing agent for my company, I have always believed that you get what you pay for. Not in this case.
I will go to Walmart & buy an inexpensive blender & when it quits working, I won't feel so bad throwing it in the garbage.
Disappointed in PA.
Very DisapointedI ordered this blender last week, and I was so excited to get it seeing all of the rave reviews it has gotten it looks like a very good blender. Well I will never know if it was because I received the blender and it was broken, glass was shattered all inside the box. I went on the "return" portion of Amazon and was hoping I would get another one sent to me, but no it made me choose "refund" because it says this product was currently unavailable to send me another for an exchange. I wasn't so upset about the blender being broken as I was not being able to get it exchanged.
I love it!I use it every day for my milkshakes (skim milk, oat bran cereal and powdered buttermilk). They're nutritious and one of the highlights of my day. I'm thinking of buying a second one of these blenders as a spare. I love the fact that you just press the frozen drink button and it shuts itself off when it's done.

Product DescriptionNew from Krups, the KB720 blender. The Krups Motor Technik is a unique electronic motor control system that provides constant power and speed whatever the load, ensuring consistent, professional results and allowing intensive heavy-duty use. Unloaded, most kitchen machines have high rotation speed. When a blender is loaded with ingredients, the rpm level drops dramatically, decreasing the rotation speed and effecting performance results. Thanks to the Krups Motor Technik, the motor remains at a constant speed whatever the load. The Krups Motor Technik also means controlled rpm's, which means much less noise. Most blenders are more than twice as loud as the KB720. With 1,000 watts of power, the 60-ounce-capacity blender has 5 speeds; ice-crushing and pulse functions; a heavy-duty die-cast metal base for stability and durability; an easily removable cap with 1- and 2-ounce measure marks; a bi-injected waterproof locking lid for clean preparation; and an illuminated, intuitive, easy-to-see and easy-to-use touchpad control panel. Graphite grey and brushed stainless steel, the blender comes with a full-color recipe book with more than 50 recipes.
Feature - 5-speed blender with ice-crushing function and pulse at any speed
- Powerful yet quiet 1,000-watt motor; illuminated touch-pad control panel
- 60-ounce glass jar with locking lid and removable measuring cap
- Die-cast metal base for stability; dishwasher-safe parts; recipe book included
- Measures 9 by 6-1/2 by 14-3/4 inches; 1-year limited warranty
CustomerReviewsWORK HORSEWe have used this blender 5 days a week for 3 full years. We use it every weekday to blend up our smoothie in the AM. We use frozen fruit (including strawberries), protein powder, juice, vitamins etc...
This blender always mixes our smoothies perfectly in fact it is easy to over blend them if you let it go too long. One key, like with all other blenders, you must use enough liquid. Also with large frozen fruit like strawberries it is good to use the "ice crush" setting at the beginning to get everything nice and chopped up.
After three years of working hard it is time to replace the blade and seal. Nice thing is the parts only cost $10 total. Love it and highly recommend this product.
Works great for green smoothiesAfter reading the various reviews, I opted for this blender rather than the more pricey VitaMix. When I first used it, I was quite disappointed, the smoothies remain gritty to chunky. Then I learned that I was putting in way too many veggies to juice/water. Now, I start with the slow button, move up through to speed 4 where I let it run for 45 seconds. The result, tasty, SMOOTH, smoothies.
This is definitely a viable alternative to VitaMix for those of us with limited budgets. It is also very easy to clean, I use my kitchen sink sprayer to clean it out and put the glass container (without base) in the dishwasher a couple times a week (or whenever I include yogurt in my smoothies).

Spend your money elsewhereI purchased my blender two years ago, and use it on average twice a month to make smoothies. I use fresh and canned fruits with a little ice, and so I consider myself a moderate user. I bought into the durability of the 1000w motor power since the motors from the last blenders burned out with the same usage. Well, my blender stopped working yesterday. To say the least I was disappointed since I expect the machine to last more than 48 uses. The next day I call Krups customer service to explain the situation, and despite the circumstance they state the unit is out of warranty and I would have to pay out of pocket for its repair. I think given that this blender cost $150 at the time of purchase I deserve a little satisfaction. Definitely not worth the money, and customer satisfaction even worse.

CustomerReviewsvery good blendernice and powerful. I like the 2 speeds, better than 20 speeds that are of very little use. crushes ice and frozen fruit with no problem. could use a bigger caraf.
great blenderBought this Blender for my Daughter and she just loves it for making mixed drinks and etc.
I love this blenderThis is my second purchase for a Waring classic blender. My first I owned & used daily for over 15 years. When it finally died I looked at other brands & models but went back to the Waring for its simplicity & power. I like just turning it on & off with a high & low speed.
My only complaint is the pouring spout. The shape it wrong & liquid dribbles down the glass. But it works so well that I deal with it.

CustomerReviewsBlenderAs always Amazon delivered my purchase in a timely manner and it arrived in good condition.
I decided on this blender after first checking with Consumer Reports magazine and then reading the reviews on Amazon.com.
I am not disappointed with the blender; it is everything that is advertised including the noise level. Some of the reasons that I purchased this one are, it has a glass container (I am getting away from plastic food containers), it has an all metal drive and minimal plastic, is less likely to break, and has only two speeds (less gadgetry).
It performs well on fruit smoothies (I throw in frozen fruit), veggie smoothies, and hummus, it is simple to use and cleans up easily.
Works well for a priceI have this blender and it works great, but I cannot be in the same room, because of the noise. You had better put some earplugs in your cart also. Because it is so noisy, I also bought a Waring to replace it, same great job without damaging my hearing. The cat's don't run and hide like a bomber just flew over and I can still enjoy a perfectly blended smoothie every morning.
not what I expectedI was very excited to receive this blender after reading all the reviews. However, when I received this blender, I was extremely disappointed. This is by far the loudest appliance ever! I thought something was wrong, so I double-checked to make sure everything was in place. I put in 3 cups of ice and expected they would all be crushed, that didn't happen. I had to remove the many pieces of icecubes in order to give my children the snow cones they were expecting. I will return this product!
